Hello  everyone,

I can't say I am a gardener as I have very few plants.. I have had roughly 2-3 plants in my balcony most of the time. This year I have dared and planted some coriander seeds.. I got the shoots but they did not last at all.. All of them died. I thought, ok...maybe because I did not thin them..

Then I got the curry leaf plant.. Its not growing much... It's alive and gives few new leaves every 2-3 weeks.. .is this normal? I have red soil mixed with garden compost(I sprinkle this once in a while according to package instructions)

I also have a basil and jalapeno pepper plant. I have bought them in nursery....again no growth at all..they are just the same since 20 days.

the iceberg lettuce shoots from nursery.. first one died... got second one...and it is almost dead... I got it along with basil...

Please help me as to what I'm doing wrong..My plants dont grow much. They get 6-7 hours of direct sunlight. Do you think this is the reason? Should I buy a shade net?

should i put some other potting mix so that plants are good like in Gg's garden?

Please help me. Thanks,

Sushma

Hi,

I had a similar problem with curryleaf plant. It just did not grow for a long time. Then with change in weather, it suddenly started growing. Right now there is not much growth. I guess come summer you might see change in the plant.

6-7 hours of sunlight is not too much. How hot is it? Why would you need a shade net in October in Mumbai?

It is normally 34-35c... not more than that...I was not sure if it is too much for plants.. You see all my plants grow really slowly. except for tulsi maybe..

Does iceberg lettuce need shade by any chance? I have killed 2 of them.
