hi everyone how do i adjust the EC of solution?right now i am adjusting the PH of the solution using potassium hydroxide.when i browsed through i found in net that u need to add more salts to increase the ec.but i dont think that is good for the plants as solution will become strong.is it necessary i should maintain a particular ec level?how do i bring it.right now i am using the hydroponics calculator formulaes.

EC is the electrical conductivity of the solution. Basically the dissolved salts (TDS) impact the EC. More the PPM of salts more the EC. In short to increase the EC you have to increase the salts.

yes srikanth i know that but the solution gets stronger right?then whats the use for a particular concentration of solution.are there any other ways to increase or should i stop worrying about ec and just see my ph level is fine?will that alone do?

OK. Generally the solution concentration is measured in either EC or PPM. If you already know that the solution is concentrated enough then do not worry too much about about the EC. Just ensure that the pH is right. Google around for PPM to EC conversion to know if you concentration levels are OK.
