Hi friends:

Some rather expensive soil-conditioning products are in the market these days promising magical results. Though it is possible that I have not used them in the correct way, they have not worked for me so far. Should I persist in their use? Or just depend on good old FYM/compost? The water available to me is saline. This is a common problem in North india. It is very difficult to find a sweet water source anywhere in South Delhi. The Govt. of Haryana promotes the use of Gypsum in saline fields or those irrigated with saline water. It is also said that Gypsum provides calcium to the soil and makes it more 'friable'. Will appreciate feedback on this subject from those of you who have already tried this out. Thanks & regards.
