Hi Friends,

This is Urban Gardener (courtesy GG) located in the southern part of New Delhi. Have around 400 Sqft of terrace area and believe me it's on the track of best possible use in all these years.

Trying hand's on with Hydroponics after tumbling upon GG's (How to grow tomatoes in Growbags) and have been to every corner of the city to source the supplies required for setup and a some with GG's help. Finally have got the setup going and will keep you all posted.

I am really happy to discover the Indian farmer within  and am sure to contribute in  every way .

Happy Growing !

Urban Gardener (UG)

Hi Urban Gardener,

I am also planning on setting up a hydroponics setup. I am looking at using about 80 growbags to grow about 8 to 10 different types of veggies. I was mainly inspired by the setup of Growing Tomatoes in Growbags – Hydroponic way by GG.

Can you please share some photos of your build? What is the bill-of-material and where did you source your stuff from. BTW, I am starting my setup next week.

Thanks,

Srikanth

Hi Srikanth,

All the best for the setup. I too was inspired by the GTIGHW post by GG. Have tweaked a few things like  grow bags which are not available in Delhi and the high cost of getting it shipped from South was a turn-off, so instead I am using the plastic pots for mainly different kind of Heirloom tomatoes. The BOM is mentioned below and surely will be posting the pics of the setup soon:

a) Plastic Pots – 14"

b) Lateral Pipe – 1/2"

c) Cocopeat Bales – 5Kg

d) Digial Timer – Frontline -TM 619H-4 pin

e) Stake Drippers – 4L/Hr

f) Microtubes – 4mm

g) Microtube emitters

h) Elbow connectors

i) T – joints

j) 80 L Drum with Lid

k) Silicon Adhesive

l) 1" screws and 1/2" wall clamps

m) 1/2" Nozzles

n) pH and EC testers

Hope you find it useful.

Happy Growing!

Urban Gardener

Hi UG,

Thanks for the information. Some picutres would of great help. I curious to know how you managed with the 5 KG bales? The source from whom I bought the growbags last time has not yet responded for my new request for 80 more growsbags.

Thanks,

Srikanth

Hi Srikanth,

Posted a few pix (Checkout the link at Urban Gardener from New Delhi post ).

The 5 Kg bales were a life saver as it was GG's suggestion as I was unable to source the growbags.

Happy Growing!
