Hi All:

I live in Jayanagar IV T Block, Bangalore and have set up a terrace garden. I am deeply inspired by GG and started off with growing vegetables, organically. I have had mixed success so far... I have had very pleasant experience growing gourds of all varieties and growing rugged plants.  I am keen on growing a lot of greens and vegetables of local variety. I also have lemon, guava, pomegranate, gooseberry shrubs growing in our garden. I am blessedto have two jackfruit trees and a mango tree on ground.

I do hope to learn a lot and share my experience in this forum.

Thanks ,GG!

Meena K

Hi Meena,

Great to know that you have so many fruit trees. A few years back I have planted guava, chickoo, pomergranate, custardapple and mango trees in the ground. I do not know how to really look after them, I just follow simple watering and adding compost and fertilizer from time to time.

The growth is slow and I have started to get about 3-5 fruits on the guava and custardapple tree. last year there were a lot of pomegrate flowers, many fell down and there were about 10 -12 fruits. No luck with chickoo and mango is still small I guess.

Please let me know if you prune the trees regularly and which month do you prune them. Any tips and help will do.
