Hello, I just joined the forum from Calcutta. This is a fantastic site! I have a small balcony with two iron "buckets" grilled to the outside of the balcony, where I can keep about 5-6 small pots each. Currently there is a tulsi plant at one end and a mogra (jasmine) flower plant at the other. The main balcony has one very large pot with a thriving kadipatta - a couple of tiny green chilli saplings are also growing in it, which I am terrified of transplanting. Most of the room on the balcony is currently taken up by a composting "khamba" I modeled after seeing them on "".

I have harvested one round of coriander leaves so far. I would like very much to grow various gourds, green leafy veggies and tomatoes. Herbs too, if possible. Any help and advice from other Calcuttan gardeners is welcome.

About the sowing chart - does Calcutta / Bengal follow the "north India" list generally?
