January 15, 2013 - 12:35 pm

Hello All,

This is Vamsi from Hyderabad. I am a soft engg by professions. I have interest in Electronics, tech stuff, aquarium etc and I am an active member of various forums.

Gardening background:When I was a kid, we used to live in an independent house where my dad used to plant a lot of variety of plants. We too used to help him. I remember myself planting Ginger, Potato, corn,Roses,Bottle gourd,Groundnuts etc

Once the schooling started we moved to another place and we are living in apartments from long time where there is no scope for planting. Recently I have purchased an independent house near to city outskirts just with intention of gardening. Its is in construction phase. I have good amount of land there which I would like to use for gardening. I have about 2 bits each of 12ft * 60ft in which I am planning to grow vegetables, fruits and Flowers.

I have started reading this forum and found few threads which mentions that there are good amount of ppl who are from Hyderabd.

So far its nice to be here and I wish I will start my hobby very soon with all your help.

Hi Vamsi, Best of luck for your garden.

I am from Hyderabad and joined this forum today. I started terrace gardening from last 3 to 4 months.  So far was successful in growing tomatoes, Okra, Spinach, mint, chukka kura (not sure what it is called in English)

Partly successful in Methi , not successful in  Melon.

Still my cabbage, onlion is still growing not sure how many days it takes further..
