Hi

I just joined this group.

Have been gardening for a while but it was just a few pots

I retired recently and in the last 3 months have a terrace vegetable garden.

Not too tech savy ..wish I could post a few photographs from my hard disk but when I click on insert it asks for url ..so gave up no clue how to upload 🙁

Well we techies are here to help you with that 🙂

Basically you can't attach an image directly on this forum, like you do while sending emails.

Alternative is, go to any file hosting websites such as

photobucket.com

flickr.com

imageshack.us etc… I will take the last example of Imageshack.us

How to Post An Image

If you would like to post images inside your posts, please use the following method:

Go to ImageShack® – Image Hosting

As per new website regulations, you will need to register on this website. Do it like you sign up for any email account/ forum etc. its FREE!

Then on the mainpage, Click Browse

Select you image and click "Open"

Click "Host It!"

Once the image is uploaded scroll down to the bottom of the page and copy the "Direct Link to image"

Go to your post message window in GeekGardener and click on the "Insert/ edit Image" button.

Paste the link you just copied

Click "Ok"

In return we would really be grateful if you could make :How to grow threads…." and post them here, so that we could all be benefited form your experiences.

ps  - you got your profile pic up 🙂 That's techie enough 🙂

Make sure you use the URL which says Direct link for your image on Imageshack.us

If you're still confused, go to youtube.com and search for "How to upload pictures in Imageshack" you will get many video tutorials to aid you.

You can also edit your previous posts than creating new ones 🙂

You mean your picture sizes are huge?

If yes, then yes, you will need to take smaller pictures (by adjusting settings on your camera) or compress them on your PC (microsoft picture manager in MS office pack does it easily).
