i bought these namdhari african marigold seeds and sunflower seeds and planted them directly in a small pot. they germinated very quickly and they looked great and healthy. unfortunately those mealybugs got to them and i sprayed a very diluted solution of (neem boiled in water) solution. somehow whatever i spray has effect for less than 24 hours, the mealybugs die but new ones again attack these plants. I kept spraying this everyday, sometimes removing manually too. the result is plants have died. i don't know what to do. it is very easy to grow plants and vegetables but the herculean task is protecting them. none of my plants last for more than a month. but i have lot of hibiscus near this marigold and sunflower plants with lot of mealybugs on them. i spray on them too. but they keep returning everyday. i am really confused. how do you protect them???? i have to check once in the morning and once again in the evening for mealybugs. without fail, they are there somewhere. most of the people prepare for harvesting while sowing the seeds and i can't even look beyond the plant surviving more than a month.
