Hello,

I have about 4 pots of gazanias. They flowered very well for about 2 months after being brought from the nursery. But after that either the leaves dry out, or the buds dry up and are not flowering. Additional info on the plants are:

-They are planted in 5 inch deep plastic pots, being 5-7 inch wide at the top.

-They receive about 3 hours of morning sun till about 10a.m.

- They are watered everyday, ensuring that the topsoil is moist.

- There are no bugs afflicting them.

- For fertilizing- I have occasionally put tea-powder and some stuff I got from a nursery-grey granules and some neem preparation (brown in colour). I was told that in summers one shouldnt use too much fertilizer else the plant dies.

So basically those are the conditions. Can anyone help me identify the reason the buds and leaves are drying up, so that i can have them flowering soon.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hello All,  I am happy to report that finally one of my gazania plants has flowers. I think the magic was done by Panchagavya and vermicompost that I used. Now there are several buds and I am waiting for my other gazania plant to also show some colour and flair 🙂

Hi Spurthi,

I can't really help you with Gazania as I never grew them. Where in Hyderabad did you get the Panchagavya from?
