hi I am a beginner gardener and have just now joined this GG forum. I live in Chennai and have space only for a container garden. Can anyone help in giving some tips on growing Beetel leaf vine in containers. I have tried many times to get the vine from my friends and planted them in containers in my balcony which gets about 4 hours of sunlight. But the vines never survive for more than a week. I use red soil: cowdung compost and sand in the container for potting.
Thanks in advance for any tips
buy a small bettle leaf creeper from the nursery where the roots will be established already or take a small piece of creeper (upto 6 inch) not the apical shoot (ie newely grown soft wood) take hard stem and plant it in a mixture of soil, sand and neem cake with light watering place it some shade area for 1 week and shift to sunligt slowly . good luck
Thank you landscapper. Your tip worked.
here is a snapshot of my betel leaf plants and some other plants in my terrace garden
