Hi GG and fellow gardeners,

I need help.

Some leaves of the tmato plant has white stuff...some are half leaves.I plucked out all of those leaves.

My plant is in the flowering stage I don't want it to die.

What pesticide should I use....organic if any.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance

WG

Hi WG,

Sorry about the late reply, is the white stuff like this : -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.....ybug    ?

If so, it best to spray neem oil + khadi soap solution in the evenings once a week for a few weeks.

Or is it like this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.....tomato.jpg

Well, you can use the same treatment as above, I did not worry about the leaf miners on my tomato plants.

hope this helps,

bye,

ramna

Thanks Ramna,

I will surely try it.

It is more like the second one but not exactly like the white strings.Mine is more like leaf tip fully white.

I could not post pics as I was afraid it might kill the plant and had plucked it out by them.

Looks like the plant is ok now as I dont see the leaves turn white anymore.

But my plant has stopped fruiting after this otherwise I would see a few flower turn into these small tomatoes easily..I saw few new branches today morning.I think they will survive, atleast I am hoping they will.

Thanks and Regards

WG

Hi WG,

Are your plants determinate or indeterminate ? My experience with the determinate kind is that once the fruit set is done and fruits start to mature, the leaves do start to turn white and the entire plant becomes kind of dry and withered with just bright red tomatoes on it.Smile

bye,

ramna

Hi Ramna,

I am not sure if it is det or indeter minate ..I bought it as a sapling from Namdhari's.Its like the cherry tomatoes only a little bigger.

I hope my plant does not dry.

I spotted 2 little tomatoes and a new bud...so I getting my hopes back on the plant 🙂
