Hi,
I have been having issues with squirrels chewing away the brinjals. I tried covering the veggies with ziplock covers and they aren't preventing them from being eaten away. Please suggest me some tried and tested methods that actually work. I searched and found that sprinkling cayenne pepper or pouring castor oil mixed with water are a few ways. Has anyone tried them.
If this keeps happening, my wife suggests me not to keep eggplants for a few months, so the pests stay away from the garden.

Put some food aside for your squirrels which will let them leave this one free.
Putting a toy snake or cat in the brinjal pot can be done to check if they have any effect (Like scare crow).
Have a green house like covering for this plants.
Shifting the plant to safer location(even indoors).
