Hi . I am in chennai and have taken up gardening on pots for the last 3 months. I needs seeds of Cherry tomato , bell pepper seeds which i am not able to get in local seed shops.
I saw Yellow bell pepper seeds in Susi seeds in T Nagar , but tey were charging 1000 bucks for a small packet.
Also saw Red Okhra's in net , so can some body can give info on where i can get few seeds in chennai. Seems Bangalore is the hub of seeds and getting them in chennai is difficult or information is sparse.
GG should help you out on this. I also bought Cherry tomato seeds from him. I use them like a miser :p
Had sown four seeds and all of them have germinated.
Would love to have Yellow Capsicum myself.
GG . Can you help me on how to get the cherry tomato seeds from your store. I am in chennai.
at the moment, i am out of cherry tomato stock now. i will be getting it shortly. i will put it up here.
I got seeds from Agri Horticultural Society in Cathedral Rd in Chennai. It is a government society just opp Semozhi Poonga. Very big and a lovely place
For hybrids, I purchased Namdhari seeds from the same place. If you cannot get the cherry tomato variety there, then contact Ashok Seeds in T.Nagar @ 044 - 24323461
Hope that helps
I will check this and has been looking out for this seeds for a long time. Good to find some light at last.
Whats is cost of seeds at Agri Horticultural Society in Cathedral Rd in Chennai ?
Are they quite cheap?
The Agri-horticultural society is not expensive at all.. They stock seeds and at times seedlings(esp in the month of Aadi). I have picked up namdari packets and other cheaper packets from them. Germination rate is also quite good. Another god place to try wuld be the road leading to ranganathan street in Mambalam.
If in Chennai, it wouldn't make much sense to sow or plant now when the temperatures are well about 35 degrees. I would suggest waiting till mid-June for the sun to ease off a bit, a couple of isolated showers before you plant.
