Hi

The colors are gone Frown we had no supply of corporation water so had to use borewell water for a few months that was the end of all the color , there after shifted to vegetables,( for which I buy water Cry), few survivors are there amongst the flowers and crotons, but most were lost.

I too buy the flowering ones from ECR ,I live in Padmavathy nagar velacherry, so snakes are common and tortoise was a visitor earlier do not see them of late.

The orchids are too expensive to buy here, these are borrowed twigs from friends and relatives in kerala. I believe the secret is to simulate a forest enviornment ,no direct sunlight ,lot of air circulation and humidity , infrequent watering and water only roots, my experiment is not very successful in that only two plants flowered in last one year !!!! It is a lesson in patience and at least only two died !

i always use bore or well water for plants it had never been a problem for me . infact we dont have corporation water facility yet . plants are cheap in kerala and bangalore ...but transporting them is a challenge .

I do have a pit in the backyard where we dump all kitchen waste and fallen leaves ...thats the best and only manure we used these days . just recenlty trying panchagavya .

how much was the total cost for u in raising the shade net ?

By the way add a small lily pond to ur garden ...i recently did ...it blooms everyday ..really lovely blue lillies

Biju

Thanks .

Premlatha

Have a small concrete pond with about 10 fish in it ,in fact thats were we caught that baby snake!, must add a white lilly to it where did you get one from?

I too use the kitchen waste , I dump it under the 3 coconut trees and sprinkle some mud or dry leaves on it and once it composts use it in the pots.

Also get some organic manure from ggg besant nagar, want to try panchgavya after reading about it on this forum have not yet managed to get it.
