There is a funny trend on my bitter gourd wine. It has a lot of flowers. But the ones that have the fruit are different. Different in the sense, that a tiny fruit is already formed before the bud actually flowers. Both the bud and fruit start growing together…and after a couple of days the flower blooms and the fruit starts to grow bigger. Is this uncommon…or is this the way the gourd grows ???

Thats how all the gourds flower and form fruit. All the female flowers come with a smaller version of the fruit which, after successful pollination goes on to become a mature fruit.
