I have successfully grown celery from seeds in pots on my terrace in Mumbai. Did not do transplanting. Directly sowed seeds and allowed to grow but didnt wait for them to grow too big, harvested when quite tender.

My mom cut off the end part of the celery bunch that we bought and put it in a pot and after some days we noticed growth of new leaves.  We have kept the pot in semi shade and it is growing fine.

Now whenever I buy celery I look for the bunch which has at least a few roots Wink

I will try to grow some from seed too.

Hi everyone:

Talking of celery, can anyone help me source seeds of "Root celery"? This is a variety of celery that is grown mainly for its root. Peeling the brown outer of the root reveals a pure white crisp mass which is simply delicious in salads. I have not been able to get its seeds anywhere in Delhi. Thanks in advance.
