Hi

My Okra seedlings are very leggy and refuse to stand up at all. They are lying flat on the ground.  Is it OK to put them on a South facing balcony (where there will be a lot of sunlight) ?  or should I place a transparent plastic bag over them?  They are almost a week old ?  In Pune the sun is very sharp. Please advise.ConfusedCry

okra seedlings need proper sunlight...

replant the seedling deep in the mud and only the leaves should be seen.....

make sure they get atleast 4 hours of direct sunlight.....

Thanks to both of you for the exchange. How deep does OKRA (roots) grow within the soil? Is it a straight seed-in-mud kind of growing? How long does it take for the seeds to sprout? How deep does one sow it?

Okra is direct seeded.Sown 1cm below the soil and should germinate in a week( usually 5 days).
