Hi,

I have a curry leaf plant that is about a 18 months old. It is about 6 ft tall. It has absolutely no branches. Just one thin stem with some leaves.

It has been this way for the last 6 months now. How can I stimulate the growth of new leaves. Should I remove all the leaves off the plant to kickstart the leaf growth?

Thanks,

Srikanth

Hi Srikanth,

Sometime back I got a curry leaf plant from my uncle who had it sitting in a corner of his big garden for almost 2 yrs and was only 2 ft tall with 3-4 branches and very few leaves in a 10 inches soil pot.

Don't have much idea about curry leaf plant but just aerated the soil and added some wormi compost and with in 2 weeks the plant started responding with lots of new branches and leaves. Started feeding NPK 19:19:19 after a month.

So as I understand it just required some TLC !

Well let's see some more suggestions. Mine was just an experience that I thought of sharing with you.

Happy Growing!

I have curry leaf plant is about 2 and 1 / 2 feet high, then planted in a larger container, it was fine for about a week and now the branches are slightly depressed and the tip of the plant does not grow even more . What can I do with my curry leaf tree grows tall and healthy again.

I think the plant needs a dose of fertilizer. Start watering the plant with a water soluble fertilizer. Start with a weak solution. Say 1-2g/liter.
Soon you will see good growth.
