I tried to grow seedlings for above mentioned plants. Mixture used was cocopit and compost 1:1 .

Seeds germinated well. After 15 days I sprayed  1ml/litre concentration of 19:19:19. The seedlings were still okay. But after few days they stopped growing and collapsed . Can someone what could have gone wrong?

My question is did all of the above mentioned plants die/collapse?

The reasons could be several -Plants subjected to too varying temperatures (from shade to heavy sunlight exposure) or roots do not have further growing space in the container.Did you water the plants daily and check on the plant conditions regularly?

Whenever using fertilizers do provide water continuously else the strong dose of fertilizer will kill the plants.

Also post pictures (if possible) as this could give some idea as to why they are collapsing.

Please start the whole process again without spraying 19:19:19.

Let us know the results.

Dhanashree, When you have added compost may be that should be good enough for the seedlings. Try to avoid chemical fertilizers if possible. It is like Allopathy medicines, works faster but not good for body. Same applies here as well good instant growth but not good for soil.

Thanks Sudhir Nair and mailtonataraj. All the above mentioned plants collapsed one by one starting with Tomatoes and Lettuce and finishing with Cauliflower. Varying temp and 19:19:19 can be the reasons.

I had moved them to sunlight a bit late after germination. Although watering and otherwise they were monitored on daily basis. I am planning to start the whole process again , this time instead of Protrays ,

in slightly bigger pots. And definitely without 19:19:19. will post the results.
