Hi,
i recently got a plastic grow bag from a friend . It was a free sample along with a potting mix . I felt this would be a cheaper option for growing veggies on roof top .

premalatha,
I have exactly the same kinda bags in my store for sale. They are sold by kilogram and cost about 200Rs per kilo. The grade is such that it can come for min 2 years with little moving around. You get about 35-40 bags per kilogram.
if interested send an email to sales@gardenguru.in

Hi GG ,
How big are these bags ? WHat kind of Veggies can be grown on them? I was looking for these in all the plastic retailers in chennai and did not find the right one for growing veggies.
Are there bigeer bags in which we can grow Tomatoes / Okhra and Brinjal?

Hi,
Am also looking for such bags.
Fw days back i enquired in Anderson street,Chennai. Only one shop had a garden bag(without manure or potting mix). Offer price was 150/kg.One bag weighs around 100gm so you would get around 10 bags(approx.). So price works out to Rs.15/bag.Shopkeeper was unable to provide details like GSM(thickness),Height,Diameter etc.
Few months back i enquird Arjun energy coporation salem.
they were selling the bags(200 GSM) for 45rs.(1ftx1ht). you can reach them @ 09442212345.
GG,
Could you provide us the details like GSM(thickness),Height and Diameter size, shipping charges?

I would be interested in the same, they seem to be a cheaper alternative to pots. But do they suffice for the purpose of Pots?
Would like to know -
what all sizes are they available?
What plants can be grown in them?
What's the medium they need?

I recently got these kinds of bags from a plastic vendor near Parrys Corner in Chennai. The cost was Rs. 50 for half kilo. There were about 10-15 Bags. I have planted Okra and Tomatoes in them. Seems fine as of now. But these bags are not circular, as we see in nurseries. I have made holes in these.

'@premlatha those seeds are from my earlier crop they are fast to sprout.
Raddish if the soil is porous sprouts in two days unless it was exposed to the heavy rains we had then the seeds sink into the soil I had that problem
@Jay I can courier a few collected quite a few from my crop you cam PM your address

@ jay ....looks the same as i want ....whr did u get them in parrys ...
@usha ...the radish are just showing ....tuk 4 days in my case ...may be coz of the weather ...
i find the seeds germinating quicker in soil than in coco peat ....may be too much moisture is the prob i am facing with coco peat ....since i used just coco peat as medium ....going to try it with compost mixed in coco peat ..

I got this from one of the shops on the Malayaperumal Street, in the Parrys Corner area. You may check with one of the shops who sells Plastic bags. If we outline the requirements, they should be able to guide to the correct vendor. I did not notice the name of the shop.
