Hi, I have a container vegetable garden. I am getting a lot of flowers and vegetables on my okra, brinjal, capsicum and bitter & bottle gourd plants.
Though a lot of fruits form on each of these plants only one vegetable on each plant starts to grow real fast, while te rest have stunted growth.
For instance I had 2 bottle gourds on a vine. One grew to maturity, while the other hung around as a tiny fruit. Only when the mature gourd was harvested did the other baby gourd start growing.
There are two things obvious here -
1. I am doing something wrong
2. The bigger vegetable is starving the rest of the plants of nourishment.
How do I make sure the nutrients are equally distributed in each plant...so all the fruits on the plant grow together?
I once tried fertilizing the plants a little extra...the plants died on me.
Please help.

Hi SG,
Can you relook at the arrangement of the plants to below :
a) Make sure all pods gets evenly distributed sun light
b) Make sure all pods gets evenly distributed water if you are using sprinklers
c) Make sure the pods gets pollinated at a similar time frame
d) Make sure you have enough room space for the growth of roots in the container
Just few thoughts 🙂
Thanks,
