Croton - Improper growth

My croton plan has a long stem and very little growth happening at the top. Leaves are withering almost easily. No insects or pests seen. have been adding vermicopost, npk fertilizer just like all other plants. I ahve even pruned a few branches at the top to enable growth in the middle. Any thoughts?

Only way to enable growth from the middle is to cut off in the middle of the stem. Since the plant has grown tall, new growth will start only from the top. There is no point in cutting off the branches. you are provoking it to grow even taller. Hence i suggest you to cut off in the middle so new branches will start growing and the plant will look thicker right from the bottom. Do this only if the plant is healthy and the roots have developed. It looks to me like u have replanted.
