Hi,
I have a 8x8 ft squarish space with 1.5ft deep area, it was filled with soil and but not cared for a long time. Now the soil has become hard and any attempts to grow in that have failed.
I see the need to nurture the land and make it more fertile. How do I go about it? Do I need to replace the soil completely with new one? Any suggestions are most welcome.
Regards
Vinod

hi vinod
for ur problem if u dont want to wait n dont bother abt ur pocket then of course changing the soil is easiest, but i like gardening my own way rather than blowing money. i suggest, u roughly divide ur space in two sq feet blocks , just mentally no measuring required, remove soil from one block leaving about 3 to 4 inches of it n dump all ur kitchen waste in it ,whent it is about to be full cover it again with the same soil, n then start working on another block away from it, like this u can alternatively remove soil n add kitchen waste to blocks by the time u r non 4th or 5th block ur first one would be ready with dark colored fertile soil.
