Hello GG and all,

I'm based at Chennai and I'm trying to grow okra, beans and radish in the pots. I sowed the seeds last Sunday and they have germinated now with tiny leaves in all the 3 pots. Please can you advise on the nutrients like compost, lighting and other important factors I should focus on to have a successful harvest. Is it okay to grow 5 okra plants in a 20 l container or still thin down the numbers?

Nisha, what is the starting medium did you use? You can use 25% coco peat, 25% soil and remaining 50% with compost / vermicompost...Add panchgavya during flowering stage once in 15 days. 5 Okra is too much for 20 lt container..limit to either 1 or 2

Hi,

I used coco peat, soil and vermi compost, but the ratios certainly differed from the above. The seedlings has just grown into 2 cm small  plants. I will buy panchgavya. Advice noted on the okra. Also, how many radish seedlings can I use in a 10 lt pot. Thanks for taking time to reply. Do you have any other tips on lighting? My plants are in west facing balcony with sunlight between 12-6.

Hai.nisha regarding to okra leave only 2 plants/20 l container.2)They need full sun as it is summer 6 hrs is enough.3)Apply panchgavya as 200ml to 10 l of water/week.3)They will give yield after 45 to 60 days.4)Spray neem oil 10 ml+punga ennai 10 ml+10 ml of soap oil to 1 liter of water/week it will control all air born diseases.5)As it is summer regular watering is needed.Regarding to beans this is not correct season. The season is aadi tamil month.Happy organic gardening.
