I love adeniums and can say i am a collector of adenium plants . I have some 6- 8 colors right now . Eager to know how many of u have this beautiful plant and wld be eager to have a look at the colors ..i wld post the pics soon .
I have adeniums as old as 10 years and have collected some seed pods as well .
BTW , which is the best way to bring maximum yeild in flowering plants ..I now use just Panchagavya . I have a packet of 19-19-19 . There is no instruction on the pack . so, i am hesitating to use them as i dont want to overfeed and kill the plants .
Generally adenium doesnt need anything other than good compost . But i do have a lot of other ornamental plants .
I am looking for yellow zephranthus and other colors of lily other than the pink one . Any source of nursery in chennai that holds these plants or bulbs ...

I am just starting to have Adeniums in my garden. Yesterday I bought 1 plant which produces flowers in 3 different colors. Person in nursery informed that this is done through grafting. Nice to hear that you have very old plants. Pls share some tips on maintaining them. Also pls share nurseries which has good adeniums at optimum cost.

Hi sagavijay ,
Adeniums on the whole dont need much maintanence . But one thing they really can be without is sunlight . They can tolerate high temperature, so keep them in a bright sunny spot . And they cant tolerate over watering . So it is even better if u dont water them everydau , but overwatering is a definite No No ..
U can try this website for odering adeniums online . They have a huge set of colors . i ordered a few last months and received the plants in good conditions . And they started blooming well. Rare colors definitely .

Hi Premlatha,
Just now checked out the site mentioned in the above post.....they say minimum order amount is to be 1000.....and each plant on an average costs from 45 - 350. So I was wondering how many plants did u order to reach that minimum amt.....and they also say one type of series cannot be clubbed with d other series while ordering.....so I am just curious ,if u don't mind telling us abt it.....

Hi,
I ordered it last month when their minimum order was Rs 500 . I actually ordered 6 plants 3 from Rs 66 series and 3 from Rs 111 series . Actually it was a shared order with my cousins. So we took 2 each . The shipping was Rs 150 additional . Maybe u can try mailing the person over phone and request him if u can make and order for Rs 500 .....

Hi sheena and mridula ,
I too had a lots of doubt abt ordering a plant online . Firstly i cldnt beleive it . But since adeniums are drought tolerant plants i just went ahead . i was told they wld send the plants with out any soil in a cardborad carton but if we want it with soil in plastic bags we have to add rs. 10 extra . i just opted out for the plain version . We placed the order and received it in four days .
The plants were wrapped in a newspaper as we wrap drumstick and was kept in a cardboard box and was couriered . And i further delayed two days to plant them .
just planted them as we transplant plants to pots . In a week , all the leaves fell down and i really thought i have wasted money , but in another week all the six plants started giving new set of leaves and buds as well.
Its a month since i have planted them and two have flowered and the rest are giving buds one by one .
The plants were medium length plants .
I have posted the pics for u guys
https://picasaweb.google.com/p.....directlink
the first two are from the lot of six which flowered first . the rest are the other colors i am having ... wld post the pics of the remaining four as it blooms ...
@ usha , wld like to order more , but not immediately , but sure wld let u know if i plan to add more ...

Thanks Premlatha , however after seeing the photographs you posted I did not have the patience to wait so tried to order even if the minium order quantityis Rs 1000 but guess what they have two lists of variesties and do not even allow you to mix and match from the two lists to make it 1000 ! So i gave up. I guess I'll have to wait.
Anyone else in chennai willing to share ?
Any idea if you go to their farm they will sell for lesser?
Wonder if the Alwarpet address is only an office or do they sell there , any idea premlatha?
