I used general grow solution to grow cucumber in a bucket raft system with air pump. The concentration was 8ml/liter(700ppm approx). I'm maintaining the pH between 5.8-6.5. However, the cucumber is barely surviving with just a leaf or two. What could be the problem?
I faced a problem due to high temperature in brinjal, the same high temperature of 33 deg C is present here. Is that the only problem or is there anything else I'm missing out?

As for the temperature, today I've covered with gift wrapper and succeded in limiting the temperature a little bit to 31 deg C, but want to know if I'm missing out on anything else.

Nice idea on using giftwrap. the plant looks like a gift now. the damage is due to sun scorch. i dont think you can do anything to reduce the light incidence. shade net will help.

Thanks Smile

Right now, along with the gift wrapper to reduce temperature, I did some research and increased the general grow solution concentration to 1400ppm, as recommended by a university website. It seems to have worked well, though I had some cloudy days inbetween:

Lets see how it progresses.

The burns in the leaf is due to neem oil spray, I used 5%, which seems to have burned the plant. My brinjal plants were affected with similar burns. Frown

Sounds like things are going well. How is the plant now?
