Greetings Gardeners,

I am keen to grow plant from seeds and have embarked on a journey to begin my hobby from growing wild rocket from seeds.
after keeping my seeds in a mix of perlite, vermiculite, coco peat and compost I finally have fresh seedlings growing out of the seeding tray.
My concern is this growth is three days old, and the seedlings have not shown development since then. What am i missing. Should i provide them a dash of maxi grow fertilizer or should i bring them out in a shaded sun environment.
So far they have been kept indoors.
I am reading on various forums that a growing light is needed to get the seeds started.
Does anyone have experience with this.

At this moment any advise will be helpful.

regards
Santosh

First things first. you dont need a growing light to get the seedling started in India. We have plenty of sunlight here.

also, If i am not wrong, the maxigrow you are talking about is a sachet ( 5:15:30?) if yes, then it is only for flowering and fruiting plants. Move them outdoor and to a bright location. If the sun is too harsh in the noon, you can move them to a semishaded environment as you said.

As the seedlings grow, they will need some fertilizer, you can add a dash of 19-19-19 or something that has more nitrogen.

hope this helps

Can i force another query on you :)
what is the best soil mix for seedling. what i have read advises making a mix of perlite, vermiculite and compost. i have tried this before but now i am also experimenting with coco peat for a few lemon grass seedlings.

Have sourced both Nitrate and N-18,P-18 and K-18. will use npk as ground chargers but starting with nitrate today. will keep updated with results.
planning to mist this again later in 15 days. will then use NPK. Hope this works.
