Hello,

I am Radhika from Chennai. I am interested in terrace gardening and am just a beginner. I have planted a few plants last week, and its lovely to see the new babies growing beautifully. I would like to plant more and create a small vegetable garden in my terrace. I am here for proper guidance on terrace gardening, and I am sure I will learn a lot from being here. Glad to be part of this wonderful forum!

Hello,

In my experience, not all the flowers that bloom will become fruits. Especially, for Brinjal and Tomato, many flowers will wither and only few will bear fruits.

You can differentiate these with their stalks. The stalks of flowers that are think may bear fruits. Those with thin stalks would wither away.

Experienced gardeners, please correct me if I am wrong.

Sadhana: I think the flowers that withered from your plants would be of the same kinds. As for the black ants, these would be more on the brinjal plants. This is a sign of Aphids attaching the plants. The ants are attracted by a kind of sweet secreted by aphids. You may try some remedy for getting rid of aphids.

Regards
