I have been growing tomato, brinjal and beans(avaraikkai) in plastic pots and my potting mix is redsoil+cocopeat+vermicompost.

They are in growing stage and not healthy. I am a new gardener, may be its disability of nutrients. Suggest and help me to grow my plants healthy.

selvaraja,

all of them are suffering from nutrient deficiency. please use complete fertilizer like 19-19-19. also add some compost. Leaf miner problem is also there. Spray neem oil solution @ 30ml/litre of water.

19-19-19 means in a 100 Kg bag of the fertilizer you get 19 Kg of N, P and K each.

Hi srikanth,

Thanks for your reply. Still i'm confusing... you mentioned 19kg N P and K.

I m living at madurai and here, all are using Chemical fertilizer. But I want ORGANIC fertilizer of N P K.

You can try vermicompost. With organic fertilizers one can never be sure of the N:P:K ratio. Organic fertilizers release the nutrient very slowly. I guess GG (admin) suggested 19-19-19 because chemical fertilizers are readily available for the plants to absorb. Vermicompost, to my knowledge, has higher percentage of NPK compared to other organic fertilizers.

selvaraja,
the % of NPK in organic compost range from 1-2%. So you need to use a bigger container and regular dose of fertilizer (compost)is important.
